Play the Barts
To compliment our competitive league fixtures in the JPS competition, Reg Bartley XI CC also host a number of sociable fixtures that attract local and touring teams of notoriety.
Some of the teams the club has hosted recently include SCG XI, Occidentals and the Swarmy Army.
With it’s quaint picket fence and traditional spectator stand, the Reg Bartley Oval provides a beautiful back drop to the serene and picturesque Rushcutters Bay. Add to this a customary Aussie sausage sizzle and refreshments from our drinks tent and you have a fantastic, sociable day of cricket in a warm and friendly atmosphere right in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

Charity Days

More than just cricket...
Every season Reg Bartley XI contest a charity cricket match with SCG XI & the Primary Club to support and raise money for the Royal Institute for Deaf & Blind Children (RIDBC). The clubs Hon.President Sir Michael Parkinson CBE is Ambassador and active supporter for the RIDBC so it is fitting that the charity match is played in his honour. Sir Michael has supported the RIDBC for over 30 years and displayed huge genererosity by attending the inaugural match in 2015 as guest of honour at the awards ceremony.
In it’s first year the event raised $2000 for the RIDBC, this was spectacularly beaten in 2016 as we raised over $7,000 thanks to the efforts and hard work of all involved.
This annual event is also a great opportunity for the club to build relationships with the local community and businesses, highlighted by the support of local bottle shop, Elizabeth Bay Cellars and Tender Gourmet Butchery in Bondi Junction. We have also received generous support from Robert Oatley Wine and Coles.
About the Barts
Reg Bartley XI CC was formed in 2008 when our founding member Paul Finch practiced his bowling at a single stump on his own at the Reg Bartley Oval (RBO) Nets. Following that, several other cricket tragics came together to be the founder members of the club and to take part in the Sydney Winter cricket competition. We fell in love with the Reg Bartley Oval the first time we saw it, and took our name from Sydney's most picturesque ground.
Following our first season of winter cricket we then applied to join the City and Suburban Cricket association. The C&S incorporates the competitive Jack Pace Shield knock out competition (35 overs with teams from inner Sydney), a good standard social cricket, with all games played on turf wickets.
The second half of our season sees us play some very attractive social games against other members of the C&S and culminates with our annual charity cricket day contesting for the Sir Michael Parkinson trophy at the RBO. 'Parky' is the Hon.President of The Reg Bartley XI and attended the innaugural event to present the awards and talk all things cricket.
We welcome players of all abilities and our founding ethos has always been a love of cricket, whether you want to open the batting in our competitive matches or run the BBQ at our social days, we have a spot for you. We play with a smile on our face, always look to win and love the spirit of the game.
